Chapter 18

Eamonn – One Month Later

The unrelenting sunshine of the morning streamed through Eamonn’s window. He tried to block it out as much as possible without getting up and closing the blinds. He didn’t want to leave the bed.

He spooned Rafe tight in his arms, practically cocooning him. This past month had been nothing short of a dream. Rafe and Eamonn couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Most nights after coming home from the pubs, one of them would wind up in the other’s room, and both of their dicks would wind up in each other’s mouths or elsewhere. Twice, they weren’t able to wait until they left the pub. Rafe had gotten better at snooker, and after a heated game at Laffly’s, Eamonn pulled him into a bathroom stall, yanked his jeans down, and slapped his bum.

“I do not wiggle my butt when I play,” Rafe insisted.

“Oh yes you fucking do.”

Eamonn slapped his arse again. The noise echoed in the bathroom, turning Rafe as hard as his butt cheek.

“Everyone heard that!” Rafe said between kisses.

“Rubbish.”

Two loud bangs on the stall door said otherwise.

“Oy! Bathrooms are for pissing and shitting!” The bouncer yelled in a deep, authoritative voice.

“Sorry, mate,” Eamonn yelled through the stall door.

“Take it outside.” He was pretty much Paul Bunyan in the flesh, and there was no compromise here.

“We’ll keep our hands off each other,” Eamonn said. Rafe buttoned up his trousers, and they left the stall.

“We were just snogging,” Rafe said.

The bouncer’s eyes traveled south to the two huge, unmistakable boners poking at their jeans. He shook his head, like he was too old for this shit. “Get your rocks off elsewhere.”

“Wait, you’re seriously kicking us out a gay bar for making out?” Rafe asked.

“Seriously, mate.”

“Doesn’t that seem slightly homophobic? For all you know, we could be hiding from our wives.”

“That’s what hotel rooms are for. Out you go. Don’t make me ask you again.”

He ushered them out of the bathroom. Rafe and Eamonn began the walk of shame. Patrons gave them a round of applause and whistles as they made their way to the front door.

“I can’t believe we got kicked out of a gay bar,” Rafe said.

“It’s all part of the adventure,” Eamonn said. He pulled Rafe into a kiss. He would never get tired of those lips.

And now it was November. Rafe would be leaving in six weeks. Not that Eamonn was keeping count, but whenever he saw the date on his phone or passed by a calendar, that’s where his thoughts instantly went. They hadn’t put a definition on what they were doing. They tried to keep this casual, just very good friends with benefits. He wondered if Rafe felt the same way, but he didn’t want to rock this boat.

“I’m surprised you don’t smoke a cigarette after sex,” Rafe had said a few nights ago. “Isn’t that a thing?”

“I reckon I should give up smoking. The whole lung cancer thing.” Eamonn hadn’t thought about rolling a cigarette in a while.
